Terms and Conditions

Last updated: July 23, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Blockdis website, account services, and desktop application (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, downloading the app, or otherwise using Blockdis, the user agrees to these Terms.

If these Terms are not accepted, the Service must not be used.

3. Description of the Service

Blockdis is a desktop application designed to help users protect their focus by blocking distracting websites and applications according to schedules they configure. The Service may include intentional friction when attempting to remove certain blocks, such as manually typing a required confirmation text.

Blockdis is available for compatible versions of Windows, macOS, and Linux. Features may vary by platform or version. The app is free to install; access to paid features requires a valid account with an active lifetime license.

4. Account and cloud sync

To use Blockdis with a paid account, registration with a valid email address, name, and password is required. Passwords are stored in hashed form on Blockdis servers. Each user remains responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of credentials and for all activity under the account.

The desktop app authenticates with the Blockdis API using a bearer token and may sync saved website and software block rules to the account. Local enforcement on a device (such as hosts file changes or process blocking) remains under the user's control and is not continuously uploaded to Blockdis servers.

Users may reset their password through the Blockdis website by requesting a one-time verification code sent to their account email address. Codes are time-limited and must be entered together with a new password. Users are responsible for keeping their email account secure; anyone with access to that inbox may be able to reset the Blockdis password.

Any suspected unauthorized access to an account must be reported promptly to hello@getblockdis.com.

5. Lifetime plan and payment

Blockdis offers a lifetime plan that grants ongoing access to the Service subject to these Terms. Prices are displayed on the Blockdis website at the time of purchase and may change for future customers without affecting purchases already completed.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By completing a purchase, the buyer authorizes Stripe to charge the displayed amount. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored in the Blockdis application database. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy also apply to payment processing.

6. Refund policy

Unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise, a refund may be requested within 3 days of purchase by contacting hello@getblockdis.com with order details.

After this period, purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

7. License

Subject to compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Blockdis grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Blockdis application on devices owned or controlled by the user, for personal or internal productivity use.

The Service may not be copied, modified, reverse engineered, resold, sublicensed, or redistributed except as expressly permitted by law or with prior written consent from CHAARAOUI ABDELAZIZ.

8. Acceptable use

Users agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of third-party rights
  • Attempt to bypass security, authentication, licensing, or blocking mechanisms
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service in a way that could harm other users or Blockdis systems

Because Blockdis modifies local system behavior (such as hosts file entries or process monitoring), each user remains responsible for ensuring that use is appropriate for the device and environment.

9. Availability and changes

Blockdis is operated with the goal of maintaining availability and reliability, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Parts of the Service may be updated, suspended, or discontinued for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons.

These Terms may also be updated from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. Blockdis does not warrant that every distraction will be blocked in all circumstances, that all bypass attempts will be prevented, or that specific productivity goals will be met.

Use of Blockdis is at the user's own risk. Each user remains responsible for the device, data, and decisions to block or unblock content.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CHAARAOUI ABDELAZIZ shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer protection law, including rights available to consumers in the European Union and France.

12. Termination and account deletion

Use of the Service may be stopped at any time. Account deletion and associated cloud data removal may be requested by contacting hello@getblockdis.com.

Access may be suspended or terminated in case of breach of these Terms, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the Service or other users.

An automated process also permanently deletes accounts with no authenticated backend activity for 3 years, along with linked sessions, authentication records, and saved block rules. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Upon termination or deletion, the right to use the Service ends, but provisions that by nature should survive will remain in effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in the country of residence.

Consumers in the European Union may also benefit from the mandatory protections of their country of residence. For disputes, contact hello@getblockdis.com first to seek an informal resolution.
